THE PUBLICISTIC ACTIVITY OF SLAVÈ KATIN (23)

Date:

45. “ISRAEL AND MACEDONIA”

The monograph “Israel and Macedonia” (2018)”is a work published by “Macedonian Spark”, on 394 pages in English, Macedonian and Hebrew. The author Slave Katin presents the journey to the state of Israel which was part of visits to fifty different countries in the world. But it was the most exciting journey, filled with many temptations, insights and challenges to get to know the “Holy Land”, its biblical places, cities, cultures, religions, customs and many characteristics of its modern world.

Reviewers of the work are: Dr. Petko Zlateski, professor at the Faculty of Theology “St. Kliment Ohridski” in Skopje and Goran Sadikario, director of the Jewish Holocaust Center in Skopje

Israel for the Jews is the promised land from the Lord to Abraham and his followers. According to biblical traditions from the Old Testament, the first settlements of the Jews in the promised land – Canaan began about 2,000 years before the new era.

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where Jesus Christ was buried and resurrected, is the holiest place for Christians from all meridians, so it is not by chance that it is also said to be a place of faith, hope and love of people who come each with their own truth and expectations, worship and prayer, joy and sorrow.

Jerusalem, on the other hand, is a city of eternal beauty and holy places. For millennia, the population of Jerusalem, but also those who came and come to worship it, have praised and continue to praise it as the city of eternity, as the center of the world, as the capital, as a city with great political power… Ohrid, on the other hand, which, due to the large number of churches and monasteries, the city is known as the Balkan and European Jerusalem.

Promotions and announcements:

On October 22, 2017, in the hall of the Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral Church “St. Kliment Ohridski” in Toronto, a promotion of the monographic work “Israel and Macedonia” by Slave Katin was held.

On 22.08.2018, a Literary Meeting was held in the “Prlice Room” of the Grigor Prlicev National University Library in Ohrid. At the meeting, Dr. Tome Gruevski presented part of the content of the work “Israel and Macedonia”

46. “MACEDONIAN EGOTERN MERIDIANS”

The extensive work “Macedonian Emigrant Meridians” (2017),“Matica Makedonska” and Matica Makedonska” from Skopje, on 592 pages, in Macedonian, is the fruit of the author’s many years of research, travels and continuous monitoring of this rather subtle, multi-meaningful and current multi-decade and intercontinental topic. The work is a kind of almanac dedicated to a part of Macedonians, whose roots are from all parts of the Macedonian land, and who marked their time in Christianity as the religion of Macedonians in Australia, Canada, the USA, the European Union, ethnic Macedonia and in the Macedonian Prespa. The reviewers of the work are; Archbishop of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Srefan and Prof. Dr. Vera Stojčevska-Antić.

The book publishes the names of over 150 famous and recognized emigrants, with various educations and professions, social activists and clergymen embedded in the development of the Macedonian Orthodox Church from its constitution to the present day, as well as about twenty texts on emigration and the Macedonian Orthodox Church-OA. Academics, scientists, writers, journalists, publicists, donors, humanists, patriots, nostalgics and lovers of Macedonia are represented. Their number could be much larger.

The number of names of people published on the pages of the work “Macedonian Emigration Meridians” shows that they have embedded themselves in the foundations of the history of the Macedonian emigration and the Macedonian Orthodox Church, the Ohrid Archbishopric, their church-spiritual and national centers, such as church communities, monasteries, folklore, literary, scientific and other types of societies and associations in the emigrant countries around the world.

The work is divided into eight chapters, namely: parts that cover personalities who are part of the truth about Christianity in Macedonia, then personalities who are part of the Macedonian truth in the emigration – in Australia, Canada, the USA, Europe, ethnic Macedonia and the emigrant Prespa.

This impressive number of names is significant for the Macedonian national, spiritual, cultural, economic and scientific activity, thus presenting the truth about the Macedonian emigration in the past and present.
