PART OF THE MONOGRAPH “GOJKO JAKOVLEVSKI” BY SLAVE KATIN
It should be emphasized that it is not easy and simple to write about inspiring, entrusting, and vowing people, about people who leave indelible traces with their lives and their deeds, both in their contemporaries and the generations to come. Such is the case with Goyko Yakov leski, alias Goyko Delchev Rafkin – Gotse of Macedonia, a Macedonian from Mace donia, from Gostivar region, from Berlin, from the entire democratic world.
Thе publication tittled “Monograph Goyko Jakovleski” makes effort to shed light on his life path. This work is com posed of twelve chapters, like twelve apostles, each of which has several sec tions, representing a chronological and thematically rounded whole.
Thus, the first chapter is devoted to his fatherland Macedonia, and is entitled “Macedonia – the Native Land”, containing materials and data on the historical devel opment of the Biblical land of Macedonia, on the Macedonian truth, and on Mace donia – from ancient times until today. This is the part that Goyko dreams about, fights for, and does his best to prove the justice and truth about the Macedonian people and Macedonia.
The second chapter is dedicated to his personality and his family tree. It contains texts about Goyko’s birthplace, about the roots of the Yakovleski family in Macedonia and abroad, about the eter nal home of his grandfather Petko in Is tanbul, as well as text on the path of the grief of Jesus Christ up to the Holy Sepul chre.
A special space is dedicated to the texts about his birthplace, his family tree of which Goyko is proud and which he por trays with love and on which he alone has so much knowledge and information. This chapter also contains materials on the progress and the future of his kin and his native land.
The third chapter is dedicated to Zubovce, which is part of his youth, his life, his future and his vow. Also, this chapter is devoted to the spiritual life in Zubovce. It presents the historical link to the centuries-old Christian processes in Macedonia, to the Church-spiritual sanc tuaries in Zubovce: St. Marena, St. Nicho las, St. Apostle Thomas and the chapel of “The Holy Mother of God and the Savior Jesus Christ”, built by Goyko Yakovleski.

The fourth chapter is devoted to the Goyko’s migration and his departure from his native country to Sofia, Bul garia, which was his new home. After he has completed high school he returned to Macedonia to continue his higher ed ucation. However, after graduating from the Faculty of Forestry in Skopje, he left Macedonia again and went to Germany for specialization.
The fifth chapter is titled “Germany – Goyko’s New Destination” which contains texts about his journey from Zubovce to Belgrade, on his arrival in the “unknown world – Germany”, as well as texts about his specialist stay in the Bavarian Forest and Munich, in the camp … There is also the text entitled “Germany or Macedo nia – that was the question”, as well as a text about the visit to the Church of St. Methodius in Elvangen.
The sixth chapter titled “In Germa ny like at Home” is a chapter which pre sents Goyko Yakovleski’s fate as a fortune seeker. He would not return to his native Zubovce, but he sent letters to his par ents informing them that he wanted to continue his studies in Germany, where at that time, in what was then West Ber lin, he started the restaurant business and opened the famous restaurant “New Skopje”.
The seventh chapter contains mate rial on the historical development of the Macedonians in the European countries of that time, many of whom came as tem porary workers and stayed forever.
That was the period when Goyko Yakovleski was the flag holder of the spiritual re unification of the Macedonians in Berlin with the initiative for the formation of the Macedonian Orthodox Church com munity “St. Clement of Ohrid” under the auspices and jurisdiction of the Mace donian Orthodox Church. That was the period when Goyko Yakovleski became involved and active member of the Mace donian associations in Europe that had a cultural, national and political future.
The nighth chapter is titled “With Love toward Macedonia”. It contains texts from which it can be seen that his native country Macedonia calls him to go back, from where he began his life and work. This chapter contains information on his business in Skopje, his donations to Zubovce, as well as his national life in his native Macedonia.
