MONOGRAPHIC WORK ON THE GREAT GUARDIAN OF THE MACEDONIAN PEOPLE AND ETHNIC MACEDONIA (50)

Date:

PART OF THE MONOGRAPH "SLAVE KATYN – LIFE AND WORKS"

In the monograph " Steve Pliakas " (2018 ), a work by "Macedonian Spark", on 336 pages in English and Macedonian, author Slave Katin presents the famous businessman Steve Pliakas as a Canadian Macedonian, or Macedonian Canadian originally from the beautiful Macedonian village of Zeleniche, Lerin, in the Aegean part of Macedonia.

He is an exceptionally well-known, recognized and indispensable figure among Macedonians in Canada and the United States. The reviewers of the monograph are: Academician Antonije Shkokljev-Doncho and Vera Stojchevska-Antik.

Steve Pljakas is the man who loves Macedonia the most. He does not back down and defends everything related to Ancient Macedonia. With his dedication to preserving the ancient Macedonian roots, he has spread the truth about Ancient Macedonia all over the world.

Among other things, together with Professor Michael Dimitri from the USA, they were the first enthusiasts to visit and discover the Kalesh, a people considered descendants of Alexander III of Macedon (the Great) in Pakistan in 1995.

In these moments of Macedonia's crucifixion, when the Republic of Macedonia is internationally recognized, although not under its constitutional name, he presents his views on its further democratic development as a sovereign, autonomous and independent state to these Balkan storms.

Steve Pljakas is a man who looks with great feelings and patriotism at everything related to his ancestral land, ethnic Macedonia. At the same time, he is the defender and affirmer of the history and honor of the Macedonian people and Macedonia in the world, especially in Canada, and in recent years in the United States of America (Florida), where he resides during the winter months of the year.

Steve Pljakas, long ago, became a member and later president of the organization "United Macedonians" in Toronto, one of the oldest Macedonian organizations in North America. During his time as president, the Meetings of the Expelled Macedonians from the Aegean part of Macedonia were held.

He then served as president of the Macedonian Orthodox Church “St. Kliment Ohridski” in Toronto. He was also the president and creator of the Canadian Olympic Committee, which provided significant financial assistance. He funded the Canadian-Macedonian athletes to compete with Macedonian Olympians at the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Steve Pljakas is the man who carried the Macedonian flag in front of Macedonian athletes at both Olympics and was the happiest Macedonian in the world.

Among other activities in his new environment in Canada, Steve Pljakas became a member of the Masonic Lodge in Newmarket. As a Mason, he is a well-known advocate for human rights, and thus for the rights of Macedonians in democratic Canada and in all parts of ethnic Macedonia and the world.
