Velo Markovski will run for president of the country

Prof. Dr. Velo Markovski will run for president of the state.

Through a press release, he sent an invitation to the media for an event where he will announce his intentions to submit a candidacy in the upcoming presidential elections.

At the event, which is scheduled for Thursday, his website will be promoted.

In order to be a candidate at all, and not according to personal desire, Velo Markovski will have to collect 10.000 signatures or be supported by at least 30 MPs.

The major parties have not yet announced who will be their candidate for the head of state.

The president of VMRO-DPMNE, Hristijan Mickosk, said that so far 22 names have crystallized, but in the following period that list will be reduced. Among the names that often circulate in the public are MP Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova and former MP Aleksandar Spasenovski. Both are from the Faculty of Law in Skopje.

The president of SDSM, Dimitar Kovacevski, stated that in the next presidential elections, the political concept "European Front" from parties that advocate for European integration of the state will have a common candidate.
