Mickoski does not rule out the possibility of early parliamentary elections

Date:

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski stated today in Strumica that after the expected victory of VMRO-DPMNE in the local elections, it would be logical to consider the possibility of early parliamentary elections and a new four-year mandate. However, he said that this decision will be guided not by political considerations but by the interest of the state.

"I expect that after these local elections we will enter a cycle of intensified investment wave and those who follow politics will say that VMRO-DPMNE and the coalition will have a strong victory, stronger than that, at least that's what they say, in 2021 and it is logical to call early parliamentary elections to secure a new four-year mandate. If we see that as a political decision, I would agree, but if we see it from a state logic, then we think differently - we want to put the state and the interests of businessmen first, so that you have a predictable future, so that you know what you can expect, and only then do we try to put our political interest first. But we will see. First things have to happen, and then we will make decisions," said Mickoski at today's Business Forum in Strumica, which was attended by businessmen from the region, as well as ministers from the government cabinet.

Mickoski has stated many times that there will be no early parliamentary elections.
