"First of all, allow me to thank all the people who participated in this dignified celebration and commemoration of the 35th anniversary of independence. Starting from the first event, where a world star was again a guest at the stadium in Bitola — under Tumbe Kafe, on August 2nd, and up to the last event, where a mega-world star was again — David Guetta. In the meantime, we had several musicals in the cities of the country, under the motto "A Bright Day". Then there was the performance of the world mega-star, Jose Carreras, together with the Macedonian "all-star" band on the Skopje square. There were also individual events, also with world stars in Strumica — Oakenfold, Van Dyke, Macedonian rock bands, including the concert of "Memoria" in Strumica, etc. "We are talking about a reach of between 200.000 and 250.000 happy Macedonian citizens who this summer socialized with Macedonian, but also world stars," said the Prime Minister, Hristijan Mickoski, in a guest appearance on MRT's Central Daily News.
Mickoski referred to the activities that took place on the occasion of the celebration of the 35th anniversary of Macedonia's independence and announced that the Government's practice of helping to bring in world music stars, as well as supporting domestic artists, will continue.
"I thank the Macedonian singers, actors, organizers, producers, directors, screenwriters — forgive me if anyone is forgotten. I thank them for making a truly unforgettable summer, a summer that will be remembered for a long time and will serve as a foundation for the years to come," said Mickoski and added:
"I heard at the press conference that the organizer's obligation is to submit a cost estimate to the State Lottery and, according to the statements of the director of the State Lottery, that cost estimate will be submitted and published. So let the opposition continue to sink into its intrigues and fabrications, and we will continue to work and deliver what the citizens expect from us. Here, I will say and announce here again, once again, that a socially responsible company like the State Lottery will continue in the years to come to support Macedonian cultural workers, Macedonian actors, Macedonian musical performers, etc."
