The Macedonian men's youth basketball team (U20) achieved a convincing triumph at the European Championship Division B in Bratislava.
Our basketball players crushed the Georgian national team with a final score of 97:62 in the first match of the playoffs.
The players of coach Nikola Velev imposed their rhythm and play from the very beginning. After the first quarter, Macedonia had an advantage of 22:16. The excellent collective approach to the game brought a maximum advantage of as many as 20 points during the second quarter. At halftime, the score was 53:35.
Our youth continued at the same pace after the big break, and the advantage quickly grew to 68:42. The question of the winner was definitely resolved before the start of the last quarter of this match.
As many as five Macedonian national team players finished this match with double-digit results behind their names.
The most efficient player was Marko Lukanoski, who scored 16 points and added six rebounds. Trajanov and Dimitriev scored 13 points each, while Marjanovic and Mladenovski added 11 points each.
With this victory, Macedonia secured a place in the fight for positions 9 to 12. The next opponent of the Macedonian basketball players will be the winner of the match between the Netherlands and Cyprus.
