MFA with a warning to Macedonians - not to travel to Lebanon

Date:

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on all citizens of the Republic of Macedonia to refrain from non-essential travel to Lebanon due to the complex security situation in the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that commercial flights to and from Lebanon are still active, and they recommend all citizens who are currently in the territory of the country, if they do not have an essential reason for their stay, to use this opportunity and leave the country.

"We remind you that Macedonia does not have a diplomatic consular representation in the Republic of Lebanon and, accordingly, a significantly reduced presence in the country, which makes it difficult to provide assistance during a possible evacuation, if there is a further deterioration of the security situation. We call on our citizens who are in the territory of the Republic of Lebanon to immediately report their presence, location and intentions to the emergency number of the Embassy of Macedonia in Cairo +201033615542 and to the emergency number of the Embassy of Macedonia in Tel Aviv +972 54 926 7378" , the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states.

The SOS telephone numbers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are available at +389 75 273 732 and +389 75 268 736, as well as at the following e-mail address: globalsos@mfa.gov.mk

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to monitor the situation in Lebanon and the regional environment and inform in a timely manner about possible guidelines for action for our citizens.
