Gerard Pique appears to be having the last laugh in his row with Shakira using lyrics from her song against him.
Pique, 35, and Shakira, 45, announced their separation last June. They've been together for 11 years and have two children, but that hasn't stopped them from engaging in a war of words – partly over Pique's new girlfriend, Clara Chia.
The latest news is that Gerard has hit back at Shakira, who in a new revenge song makes a sarcastic comparison between her and his current girlfriend.
"Baby, I wish you all the best with my replacement, I don't know what happened to you, but you replaced 'Ferrari' with 'Twingo', 'Rolex' with 'Casio'...", is part of the lyrics of her song.
Gerard reacted immediately and laughingly announced that he and his friends had received free watches from Casio.
And now the football player once again made a joke at the expense of the Colombian singer and her new song.
A video is circulating on social media in which the footballer arrives at work in a "Twingo", the brand of car that Shakira uses in the song as a metaphor for his new girlfriend.
British "Sun" learns that Pique paid 8.000 pounds (about 9.000 euros) for the new "Twingo".
The former couple split in June last year. Shortly after, Pique was photographed with Clara Chia, an employee of his production company. Although he refused to make statements about the new romance, Gerard and Clara were seen together several times, and it was later revealed that their affair has been going on since 2021.
