Mitko Chavkov, the former minister of interior convicted for the events of April 27, has been released from prison. It is about a one-month suspension supported by medical documentation, which was requested by the director of the Sanctions Enforcement Directorate, Aleksandar Pandov.

"As acting Director of the Administration for the Execution of Sanctions, the only thing I can do is if a request comes from a prisoner who will submit documentation that he has an acute health problem, signed by a specialist that a medical procedure must be performed, then I have no right to refuse it. Convicts in the case of April 27 referred to Article 225 of the Law on Execution of Sanctions, the amendments of which were voted at the end of March.
