Macedonian tennis player Lina Gjorcheska won the first round of the ITF tournament in the German city of Aschaffenburg today. She defeated German player Josie Dims 2:0 in sets (6:3; 7:6(5)) in 100 minutes of play.
In the first set, our tennis player had the advantage and finished the set with 6:3 in games, while in the second set she constantly led, but her opponent managed to equalize and reached 6:6 in games. In the tie break, Gjorcheska led with 4:1 in points, and then with 6:3 to use the third match point.
In the second round, Gjorcheska will play against the second seed in the tournament, Tara Wurth from Croatia, who defeated German Tessa Johanna Brockmann 2:0 in sets today.
