The verbal party battles and accusations about who is blocking the European path and who is trading on national issues continue. The President of SDSM, Venko Filipche, came out with the accusation that the government is consciously pushing the country into isolation in order to protect the criminal gang and block the country's European path.
"Macedonian national identity is not threatened by minorities in the Constitution. Macedonian national identity is threatened by crime and corruption. Hristijan Mickoski and his criminal group VMRO must understand that citizens see very clearly what they are doing. They deliberately want to isolate the country from Europe in order to keep their criminal gang in power ," said Venko Filipche.
VMRO-DPMNE has come out with a counter-accusation. They say Filipche is following in Zaev's footsteps and is ready to fulfill Bulgarian demands to the detriment of Macedonia.
"When a clear condemnation and a firm stance in defense of Macedonian interests are needed, Venko Filipce chose the opposite path. Filipce and SDS chose the anti-state, i.e. Bulgarian path. Instead of standing on the side of Macedonia, they are sending a clear message that if they come to power, they would implement constitutional changes and accept policies that are in line with Bulgaria's demands ," says Valentin Manasievski.
Condemnation and criticism were directed at both Prime Minister Mickoski and Filipce yesterday at the solemn celebration of May 9, the Day of Victory over Fascism and Europe Day. I will never make a market with identity, said Mickoski and called for unification. Filipce, in turn, accused the country of being turned into the Venezuela of the Balkans. He said that everything the Prime Minister says is just an excuse, and that constitutional amendments need to be made.
