The famous French actor Gerard Depardieu has been accused of sexually assaulting or sexually harassing 13 women, according to an investigation conducted by the website "Mediapart". The women claim that Depardieu grabbed them, put his hands in their panties and made lewd remarks.
The incidents have occurred over the past two decades on film and television sets or in public places.
"Depardieu denies all allegations that are considered a crime," his lawyer said.
The allegations come two years after Depardieu came under criminal investigation for rape, which he has denied.
In the "Mediapart" investigation, a woman said that Depardieu tried to put his hands under her dress, and when she refused, he became aggressive and tried again. Another woman revealed that he wanted to touch her genitals during a group scene.
Many of the women said they were shocked that nothing was done on the film sets and that Depardieu's behavior was tolerated and even laughed at.
The Paris prosecutor's office said it had not yet received any complaints about the actor.
