One of today's biggest pop stars, Taylor Swift, was fined a total of $3.010 for littering outside her New York home.
In 2017, Swift bought a beautiful house on Franklin Street in Tribeca for $18 million. After transferring her base to New York, the singer received 32 fines for not keeping the area in front of her house clean, according to American media.
The fines, obtained by the New York Post, were received between January 2018 and January 2023. Ever since a few pedestrians complained that the garbage on "Franklin" no. 153, inspectors stopped in front of her house and were not satisfied with the dirty sidewalk and improper garbage disposal. The sidewalk was allegedly full of newspapers, bottles, cartons and napkins, and there were also several cigarette butts.
The singer appealed the fines, and only $200 was deducted from the total amount. But her neighbors aren't happy with how Taylor maintains the sidewalk in front of the house. "She doesn't care about the trash." She is more focused on the million-dollar tour, which drives her fans into bankruptcy," says a girl who walks dogs on that street.
However, there is also someone who stood up for her.
David Aldea, her former landlord, eulogized: “She was the perfect tenant all along. "I have only positive things to say about her."
Some accuse fans who wait outside her home to see her that they are actually leaving trash.
This is not the only real estate she owns. There are also several apartments and houses in New York, Beverly Hills, Rhode Island and in Nashville.
