Siljanovska-Davkova: The motto "Stronger Europe - Stronger NATO" means an enlarged and united Europe

Date:

More Kantianism than Machiavellianism. Today I would like to say that the motto "Stronger Europe - Stronger NATO" in my opinion means that an enlarged and united Europe is a stronger Europe. But the strongest Europe is a Europe that lives in peace and democracy based on principles and values. That is my message - emphasized President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova in a short statement to the media before the meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of heads of state and government, which is being held in the "Beştepe" presidential complex in Ankara.

President Siljanovska-Davkova is scheduled to address the meeting of the North Atlantic Council, which is attended by the heads of state and government of 32 NATO member states.

On the eve of the NATO summit, Siljanovska-Davkova attended the reception organized by the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, last night.

"In the spirit of alliance and mutual respect, we exchanged views with the heads of state and government on the further shaping of the Euro-Atlantic security architecture, strengthening collective defense, and solidifying transatlantic unity. I am convinced that with political wisdom, mutual trust, and strong commitment, we can create solutions in the service of peace, stability, and security," the Facebook president announced.

Siljanovska-Davkova is leading the Macedonian delegation at the summit, which includes the Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Vlado Misajlovski and Timcho Mucunski, as well as Major General Sasko Lafchiski, Chief of the Army General Staff.

The focus of the summit agenda is on strengthening the alliance's collective security through greater investment in defense, the development of the defense industry and the advancement of defense capabilities, as well as continued support for Ukraine.

On the sidelines of the summit, President Siljanovska-Davkova is scheduled to meet with heads of delegations from some of the NATO member states.

The two-day summit in Ankara brings together leaders from the 32 NATO member states, including US President Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Slovak President Peter Pellegrini, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev, Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajic...

The summit will also be attended by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and European Council President Antonio Costa.

In addition to 32 NATO heads of state and government, the summit is also attended by nearly 100 ministers, senior diplomats, representatives of international organizations, along with several thousand diplomats, journalists and other guests.
