As the most prominent among all candidates for the two positions on the Judicial Council to be filled by the head of state, President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova proposed to the Parliament lawyer Suzana Josevska-Atanasovska and professor Arlinda Kadri-Šahinović.
The first is an expert in criminal law, the second in civil and family law.
Joshevska-Atanasovska graduated from UKIM in law. Kadri-Šahinović from FON. They have rich biographies that include cooperation with non-governmental organizations, both international and domestic.
Suzana has made a significant number of public appearances outside of her legal work, and is considered a critic and defender of the independence of the judiciary. She was also an advisor to the former Special Public Prosecutor's Office, an advisor to the Ministry of Finance on international legal communications and processes, and last year she also lectured at the Academy for Judges and Public Prosecutors.
In addition to teaching at FON and MIT University, Arlinda is also a member of the General Assembly of SOS Children's Village, is engaged as a legal expert in the Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM), and has been the president of the FFM's Appeals Commission for two terms. She was a member of the Pardon Commission under the President of Macedonia Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, which Commission disbanded at the beginning, after the collective resignation.
