Sileks and Shkendija Tetovo are finalists in the Macedonian Cup

The teams of Sileks and Shkendija from Tetovo will fight for the trophy in the Macedonian Football Cup. This is the outcome after the second leg semi-final matches played today in Kratovo and Kumanovo.

The Sileks team defeated Ohrid Lychnidos 1-0 at home, after the first match ended in a 1-1 draw.

From the very beginning, Kratovo was the one who went on the offensive. In the fifth minute, Alic headed the ball, and the ball almost went past the post. Already in the 8th minute, Misov tried, but it hit the crossbar of the Ohrid goal. After the quick action in the 16th minute, Pires shot, but it was an easy ball for the visiting goalkeeper Serafimov. And, he was the hero of the guests in the 25th minute when he saved Alic's penalty kick. But Serafimov was powerless at the second penalty for the hosts, which was taken by Darko Dodev in the 33rd minute and brought Sileks a 1-0 lead. The Portuguese, Pires, tried his shot again in the 42nd minute, but then it hit the goal.

In the second half (51st minute), the Bosnian, Alic, from an ideal position of 6 meters, undefended by anyone, headed over the guest goal. Just five minutes later, Pires shook the guest's net, but the goal was disallowed for offside. There were no more serious chances until the end, so the Kratovo team secured a place in the final.

In Kumanovo, the duel between the two Shkendijas, Arachinovo and Tetovo, went to the current champions from Tetovo with a score of 2-0. In the first match, the Tetovo team won with a score of 3-2 and with two wins they secured a place in the final.

In the second minute, the team from Tetovo was very lucky, when Adili hit the post from a free kick from the visitors' goal. That was the only chance for a goal in the first half. In the second half, or in the 57th minute, Latifi tried in an attractive way. His "scissors" shot ended up in the crossbar of the home goal. Both mistakes of the team from Arachova were punished in the final minutes and quickly. First in the 85th minute, Spahiu for a 0-2 lead, and in the next minute, Ndzengue for a final 0-2.

Thus, after a break of four years, Sileks will play in its sixth final in which it will attack the 3rd trophy. Shkendija will also play its sixth. In the last one, in 2018, the Tetovo team reached the second Cup trophy.

This year's Macedonian Cup final will be played on May 20.
