– There is a reasonable suspicion that in the period from July 2023 to March 2024, the suspects manipulated the procedure for awarding public procurement contracts for external hygiene maintenance at border crossings and terminals, whereby by favoring a certain economic operator and restricting competition, they enabled the legal entity to acquire unlawful property benefits in the amount of 18.479.692 denars – the statement from the Prosecutor's Office says.
According to the evidence, Bogoev, as a director, allegedly influenced the implementation of the tender procedure in favor of the selected bidder, while the assistant director influenced other companies to participate in the procedure.
-In the framework of the investigation, evidence has been provided for receiving and giving a reward for unlawful influence, with the first suspect receiving a reward in the amount of 111.600 denars for taking advantage of his official position and real influence. In order to ensure the smooth conduct of the criminal procedure, the public prosecutor will submit a proposal to the judge of the preliminary procedure at the Basic Criminal Court in Skopje for determining a detention measure for all four suspects - the Prosecutor's Office added.
They are charged with Abuse of the public tender procedure, awarding a public procurement contract or public-private partnership, Receiving a reward for unlawful influence and Giving a reward for unlawful influence.
The Financial Police Department also issued a statement, filing criminal charges against the individuals.
According to their statement, it was an employee of the company who is unofficially an SDSM party activist from Prilep who actually forced Bogoev to rig the tender and gave him a bribe.
– The accused A.S., using his real influence, social position and reputation, requested, intervened, encouraged and influenced the performance of an official action that should not have been performed by the accused S.B. in his capacity as Director of the Customs Administration, after which, in collaboration with the accused D.G., they influenced the accused S.M., to whom they directly gave, promised a gift and benefit for him as well as indirectly for the accused S.B., in order to perform an official action that they should not have performed, for which the accused S.B., in the period from May 2024 to February 2025, directly and indirectly requested and received a gift and other benefit for himself, partly directly, and partly indirectly through the accused S.M., say the Financial Police.
After Bogoev's arrest, they withdrew their support from their parent party, SDSM.
