A new composition of the Assembly will be elected in the next 20 days, the inauguration of Siljanovska-Davkova this weekend at the latest

After the end of the parliamentary elections, the next step is for the mandate of the new parliamentary composition to be verified by the SEC.

In accordance with the Constitution, the newly elected Assembly meets at a constitutive session no later than 20 days after the elections, and will be convened by the President of the Assembly from the previous composition.

If a constitutive session is not scheduled within the stipulated period, the MPs meet themselves and constitute the Assembly on the twenty-first day from the day of the end of the elections.

The mandate of MPs in the Parliament is elected for a period of four years and the MP cannot perform other public functions or professions. The Assembly is dissolved if the majority of the total number of MPs declares it so.

Regarding the presidential elections, a parliamentary session for the inauguration of the newly elected president Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova should be convened on May 12 at the latest. On May 12, the mandate of Stevo Pendarovski expires.

If the inauguration of Siljanovska takes place on May 12, she will have to assign the mandate to the new composition of the Government.

Before taking office, the president makes a solemn declaration before the Assembly, with which he undertakes to respect the Constitution and the laws.
