Within two years, the tennis world was rocked by two major scandals, and at the very center of them, due to incredible circumstances, a 59-year-old man from Adelaide, Australia named Darren Cahill found himself.
As a tennis player, Cahill did not have too many serious results, in singles he won only two titles, including the semifinals of the US Open in 1988, in doubles a little more – 13, with the final of the Australian Open in 1989.
He added to that the Wimbledon mixed doubles final in 1987.
However, despite his "lean" career on the field, he began to build an incomparably more successful career off the field, as a coach.
Thus, he helped Lleyton Hewitt become the second youngest tennis player to become "number one" in history, then he coached Andre Agassi, who at that moment became the oldest tennis player in the second place in the ATP ranking list, so from 2016 to the beginning in 2019. collaborated with Simona Halep.
A year's break followed before he continued his collaboration with the Romanian in 2020. During their collaboration, Halep became the best in the world.
In July 2022, after the termination of cooperation with Halep, he received an invitation from Yannick Siner's headquarters and joined Simone Vagnozzi as a co-coach of the young Italian who "trampled" everything before him and won the Australian Open and the US Open.
However, it was not only the successes that marked Cahill's career.
At the time he started working with Agassi, the American was still trying to justify using the drug crystal meth in 1997. During his time with Cahill, Hewth had a major fight with doping rules and was linked to match-fixing, which escalated in 2016 when the Australian called the allegations "stupid".
But while on those two occasions he was directly involved in some things that are not directly related to the more beautiful part of the "white sport", in October 2022 the first serious blow followed. Namely, Cahill, although at that moment he was already a former coach of the Romanian tennis player, received information that Halep was positive on a doping test during the US Open.

Cahill pointed out that Halep is "honest to the core", and that there is "no way she would intentionally deceive anyone". However, his name was among the most frequently mentioned when it comes to the background of the suspension of the former number one tennis player on the planet.
A year and a half later, in the moments when Cahill was trying to reach the second Grand Slam with Yannick Syner in mutual cooperation, the shocking news arrived that Yannik Syner also failed a doping test.
The fate of the young Italian will be known in the coming months, but there is no doubt that this expert does not care when he sees that all four of the tennis greats he has worked with have something to do with actions that are not in line with fair play.

Why wasn't Cahill investigated for having multiple players having tested positive for doping?
