The basketball players are ready for a new triumph in the pre-qualifications for the European Championship 2025

Today (from 18 p.m.), the Macedonian basketball team is scheduled to play the fifth round match against Slovakia in the pre-qualifiers for qualifying for the European Championship (EP) in 2025 in Latvia, Cyprus, Finland and Poland. These pre-qualifications in group D will end on Sunday, in Oslo, where Macedonia also awaits a match with Norway (from 18 p.m.). Last August, Macedonia beat Slovakia in Skopje with 79-75, and in November Norway with 58-36, in Gevgelija.
The Macedonian national team members have been in Levice since Tuesday and did several trainings in the hall (capacity 2.000 spectators) where the duel with Slovakia will be played.

The winner of each of the three qualifying groups will play in the qualifiers for Euro 2025, along with Cyprus, which automatically qualifies as one of the continental championship's co-hosts. The remaining eight national teams will have another chance to enter the qualifiers for the European Championship 2025, after together with the four teams eliminated in the first phase of the pre-qualifications, they will play in the third cycle of pre-qualifications, from where, in turn, the four best will play in the qualifiers, where a total 32 national teams should take part (2025 should play at EP 24).
For placement in the main European qualifiers, the red and yellows will need at least one more victory from the upcoming two meetings. In case two national teams have the same number of points, the mutual result decides first.
