Karate athletes return from the European Championships in Cyprus with two bronze medals

At the European Championship for cadets, juniors and junior seniors U21, at the weekend in Larnaca, Cyprus, Macedonian karate players won two bronze medals.

In the U21 discipline, the godfathers -84 and +84 Vitomir Trajkovski and Stefan Stojanović, climbed the podium.

– In the first round, Trajkovski beat the representative from Italy, Fiore Matteo with 2:1, in the second round he won against the Portuguese Miranda Jose with 4:3, in the third round he beat the Croatian Aleksanadr Kalabac with 4:1, while in the fourth round he lost to the Ukrainian Maxim Buhajov with 1:2. Furthermore, in the rematch, he won a victory against the representative from Belgium, Danil Anisivo, with a decision of 4:4, with which Vitomir won the third place and the bronze medal.
In the first round, Stojanovic defeated the representative from Georgia, Merabi Gelashvili, with a score of 2:0, in the second round, he defeated the representative from Ireland, Lee Sheridan, with a score of 2:0, in the third round, he won against the representative from the Czech Republic with a score of 4:3, and in the fourth round he lost to the Italian Matteo Avancini with 4:5. In the rematch, Stefan met with the representative from Slovakia, Malik Bagaev, against whom he won third place and a bronze medal with a score of 4:0, announced the Karate Federation of Macedonia.

1.114 karateka from 48 countries participated in this championship.
