The Internet went crazy over the recipe for homemade butter that can be made in 10 minutes

Date:

A new trend has taken over the TikTok platform – users have discovered that real homemade butter can be made in just ten minutes, and with one ingredient – sour cream.

Those who have tried it say that homemade butter is softer, creamier, and richer in flavor than store-bought butter, a perfect addition to pancakes, pastries, or cakes.

Pour the heavy cream into a bowl and beat on low speed, then medium speed, until it thickens and begins to turn into whipped cream. Continue beating for a few more minutes – until the mixture separates into liquid and grainy residue (butter).

The butter is rinsed with cold water and gently kneaded in a sieve to remove any residue, as this extends its shelf life. It is then squeezed out and placed in the refrigerator for 5 to 10 minutes to firm up.

If you want a saltier taste, two teaspoons of salt can be added to the butter, and the product can be stored in a well-sealed container or foil for up to three months in the refrigerator or up to a year in the freezer.

This simple but effective trick for homemade butter has won over audiences on social media – many claim that once you try it, you'll never buy industrial butter again.
