The new issue of the magazine "Povod 78" for August is a publication on literature, culture, history and social issues. It is published by the Macedonian Literary Society "Grigor Prlicev" from Sydney, which is best known among Macedonian emigrants around the world, especially in Australia.
Issue 78 of the magazine "Povod" is dedicated to the work "The Anthology of Macedonian Poetry in Australia" "ILINDEN IN OUR HEARTS", which includes the poems "Ilinden Our Holy Holiday" by Gordana Dimivska, "Ilinden" by Gordana Aleksandrova, "Ilinden - August 2, 1903" by Risto Galevski, "Ilinden August 2" by Goran Jovanovski, "Eternal Memory of Elpida Karamandi" by Olivera Jovanovska, "Centuries of the Century" by Goran Maslinkovski, "Ilinden Epic" by Naum Paunovski, "Krushevska Republic" by Violeta Ristevska, "Ilinden Baptism" by Ivan Trposki, "Ilindenska" by Dimche Dzajkoski and "Ilinden" by Spase Trposki,
A special space in this issue of Povod is dedicated to the review of Prof. Dr. Violeta Achkoska for the Anthology of Macedonian Poetry from Australia “Ilinden in Our Hearts”, in Macedonian and English. It states, among other things, that the Anthology is published by the Macedonian Literary Society “Grigor Prlicev” from Australia, which has been nurturing the beautiful Macedonian word, Macedonian traditions and roots for decades. The published poems are strongly patriotic, as a reminder of the glorious past, they warn and call us to stand up again. They represent another great bulwark, a fortress against the encroachments on Macedonian history, name, language and identity, which have been and are being sold cheaply by some of the political groups in the Republic of Macedonia. In the published poems, from which emerge a series of lyrical overtones towards the Macedonian freedom fighters, their courage and defiance, and descriptions of epic scenes of the fight against numerous enemies, a large number of Macedonian poets open their hearts.
In continuation, this issue includes the text by Fidanka Tanaskova under the title "Celebrated Ilinden 1903, 1944, 1991" massively, solemnly, proudly, dignified", in which it is noted that the glorious holiday of Ilinden was marked by paying tribute and eternal oblivion to the heroes, the heroes, the commanders, the dukes, the revolutionaries, the Macedonian fighters, to the thousands of known and unknown Macedonian sons. Those of our ancestors who, with the many battles, rebellions, uprisings, with the struggles for the freedom of their native land throughout the centuries, wrote indelible pages, wrote a chronicle of disobedience, courage, patriotism and truth.
Also during the Ilinden celebrations in Sydney, the poems "In Memory of Ilinden and the People of Ilinden" by Ivan Trposki, "Ilinden - a Day of Unification" by Gordana Dimovska and the text "Cleopatra of Kravari - a psychological homage to a loser character", for the contribution by Ivan Trposki regarding the play "Cleopatra of Kravari" by the author Dušan Ristevski (Occasion 77), as well as the text in Macedonian and English for the two books "Memories of Neret" and "Dialectical Dictionary of Neret".
A special space is dedicated to a text by Ivan Trposki entitled "40 years since the protest in front of the Greek Embassy in Canberra". It says, among other things, that August 1, 1986, was a day that they perceived as the first protest baptism, as the beginning of a process in which they would express their revolt against the Greek government, which assimilated and scattered the Macedonian people in the Aegean part of Macedonia, in a civilized manner. Fueled by patriotism and patriotism, Macedonians from all over Australia traveled to the gathering place, in Cumbian (a suburb of Canberra) to express their justified anger, first in front of the Australian Parliament (which sympathized with the numerous Greek emigrants for everyday political reasons, i.e. because of their large voting body), and then in front of the Greek Embassy in Canberra, which the Macedonians experienced as a true chauvinistic Bastille. Then Aleksandar Donski presented the text entitled "Unexpected Event in the House of Tose Proevski", and the poem "To Tose Proevski" by Slavica Ristevska was presented, as well as the text entitled "Poetic Pearls" by Mitre Mangoski Radoždanski.
A special place in this issue is dedicated to the text by Dušan Ristevski-Makedon entitled "Slave Katin - winner of the prestigious "Keys to Prespa 2026" award, which, among other things, notes that this award was awarded to Katin for his lifelong contribution to the affirmation of the diaspora and Macedonia, as well as for his achievements in journalism, science, journalism, for his decades-long contribution to the affirmation of Macedonia in the world and its lasting connection with Prespa, as well as for the affirmation of the Macedonian diaspora worldwide, with particular emphasis on the diaspora from ethnic Prespa. The recognition was awarded within the framework of the International Theater Festival "Actor of Europe", co-organized by the University of Audiovisual Arts - EFTA - Skopje.
The following is the text entitled "A Century Since the Consecration of the Temple of the Most Holy Theotokos in Volino", then the song "Petrovdenski spomen" by Ivan Trposki, as well as the text by Fidanka Tanaskova entitled "Macedonian Folk Pearls on the European Stage", which refers to the always positive atmosphere in the folklore section of the Pensioners' Association "Solidarity" from Skopje. Then there is the text by Bozin M. Andonovski entitled "The Song is My Everyday Life".
A special section is dedicated to the German poet Sonja Tairovska-Gjurcak. It features part of her poetic work, as well as texts by Aleksandar Donski entitled "Macedonians founded the first museum and were pioneers in book publishing", as well as the English-language text "Macedonian Peninsula" by Risto Stefov.
Finally, in the column "One Poet - One Song", Ivan Trposki presents the poet Savo Kostadinovski from Germinija with the poems "Saint Clement", "Saint Naum of Ohrid" and "Saints Cyril and Methodius", as well as the text about our late colleague Jovan Pavlovski, to finally end with the award competition for the Prlič Award.
