Two people from Veles were bitten by a snake while working on a vineyard yesterday morning near the village of Vojnica. After their condition worsened, they were transferred to the Infectious Disease Clinic in Skopje.
Men aged 76 and 64 are in relatively better condition today. The two probably ran into a snake's nest, and the snake, according to them, jumped up and bit first one on the palm, and then the other who wanted to help.
They went to Veles, and asked for emergency help, which met them on the road and immediately gave them serum against the poison.
They were hospitalized in the Veles hospital, but after their condition worsened in the afternoon, they were brought to the infectious ward.
The situation with snakes during this summer due to the high temperatures and hot weather is alarming, and the Crisis Management Center constantly calls for citizens to be careful.
There is no reptile capture service in Macedonia.
