Israeli actress Gal Gadot announced on Instagram that she had a blood clot in her brain during her last pregnancy. She says she was eight months pregnant when she was diagnosed and her fourth child was born before undergoing emergency surgery at a Los Angeles hospital.
"I was diagnosed with a blood clot in February after weeks of excruciating headaches that kept me in bed until I finally had an MRI which revealed the terrifying truth. At one point, my family and I were confronted with how fragile life can be. We rushed to the hospital and within hours I underwent emergency surgery. My daughter Ori was born in that moment of uncertainty and fear," Gadot said
Explaining that her daughter's name means "my light", she said she told her husband before the operation: "When our daughter comes, she will be the light waiting for me at the end of this tunnel."
The Wonder Woman star says she wanted to share her story to encourage others to listen to their bodies.
Gadot and her husband Jaron Varsano are also parents to Alma (2011), Maya (2017) and Daniela (2021). The couple has been married since 2008.
