"On Friday, 31.01.2025 until midnight, the PRO's GPRS system registered a total turnover in the amount of 114,293,367 denars and 247.822 fiscal receipts were issued on that day. On Thursday, 30.01.2025 until midnight, the PRO's GPRS system registered a total turnover in the amount of 212,782,151 denars, and 421.547 fiscal receipts were issued," the PRO announced.
While citizens are racing against the prices of food products, inspectors are already conducting inspections in large retail chains to check for financial abuses. Hospital kitchens are also under the scrutiny of inspectors from the Food and Veterinary Agency. After 43 extraordinary inspections in hospitals conducted last week, the AHV destroyed 110 kilograms of unsafe food.
"The controls determined that 5 kitchens did not fulfill the legal obligation to register as food operators with the AHV, 4 did not meet the technical safety requirements, i.e. damage was determined to the premises where food is prepared. 8 of the kitchens did not meet the requirements for good hygiene and good manufacturing practice," the AHV statement states.
The inspectors found unhygienic conditions, grease deposits in the kitchen, inadequate maintenance of the equipment, damaged wall and floor surfaces, employees without food hygiene certificates as required by the Law, and unregistered food operators. The AHV informs that 15 decisions were issued for these irregularities with orders to eliminate the identified inconsistencies and 5 fines were imposed.
