On Saturday night, unknown perpetrators stoned the Macedonian club "Nikola Vaptsarov" in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, breaking the glass of the entrance. As reported by the Bulgarian media, the Bulgarian police carried out an inspection and confirmed that after 21:XNUMX the shop window of the club was stoned.
The stoning of the Macedonian club in Blagoevgrad follows a series of tense events caused by the Bulgarian side, first of all at the commemoration of the 95th anniversary of the death of Mara Buneva in Skopje, when MEP Angel Dzambaski and the president of the Revival party, Kostadin Kostadinov, shouted insults in the middle of the Macedonian capital slogans that "Macedonia is Bulgarian" and "one nation, two states".
The situation further escalated with the incident in Ohrid when a person with Bulgarian citizenship beat a Macedonian citizen with Bulgarian self-awareness, which initiated a fierce reaction from official Sofia, which stopped all joint projects with Macedonia, withdrew the Bulgarian ambassador from the country, and on top of that sent and a presidential plane to take the beaten Macedonian citizen and treat him in Sofia. About this incident, the Bulgarian authorities informed the EU, the European Commissioner for Enlargement Varheji, as well as other competent European bodies, with the rationale that Bulgarian citizens in Macedonia are the target of hatred and attacks.
This Bulgarian-conceived doctrine to denigrate Macedonia was completely exposed by the current Bulgarian MP and former minister Daniel Laurel in a television interview.
– The gentleman who was attacked in Macedonia is not a Bulgarian citizen. Bulgaria should protect its citizens above all. He is a Macedonian citizen who now declares himself as a person with Bulgarian self-awareness. One of those who attacked him is a Bulgarian citizen. The question arises why we don't talk about him, because he has Bulgarian citizenship and what we are doing to control him - said Laurel.
And while Bulgaria made a noise at the highest level about the attacks on Bulgarian clubs in the country, and the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacts to even the smallest family dispute in Macedonia, giving it the status of an interstate incident, now it has to explain whether it will apply the same criteria in relation to stoning. of the Macedonian cultural club in Blagoevgrad and whether he will consider this as an act of hatred towards the Macedonian minority in Bulgaria and will inform the EU about it, and will reveal the perpetrators in time and punish them draconianly.
Bulgaria now has to react to the threats made by the head of the Bulgarian foundation "Macedonia", Viktor Stojanov, who on the social network Facebook offers a reward of 200 euros for the one who reveals the name and surname of one of the Macedonian policemen who on Saturday detained three Bulgarian citizens at the Deve Bair border crossing because of their aggressive behavior.
Regarding the incident with the stoning of the Macedonian club in Blagoevgrad, a reaction is expected from the Macedonian MFA, which should reciprocally react in the same way as the Bulgarian MFA reacts.
The Macedonian club in Blagoevgrad was opened last year on October 30. The opening of the club was attended by the leaders of VMRO-DPMNE, Hristijan Mickoski, and of Levica, Dimitar Apasiev, as well as the general secretary in the presidential cabinet, Mile Bosnjakovski. Parallel to the opening of the "Nikola Vaptsarov" club, on the square in Blagoevgrad, near the Gotse Delchev monument, there was a small protest by supporters of the Bulgarian VMRO-BND party, led by the MEP Angel Djambaski, known for his radical anti-Macedonian views. Djambaski and supporters prevented Macedonian delegations from laying flowers on the monument.
