The Albanian Agency for Statistics made a correction one day after the announcement of the results and instead of "North Macedonians" the census column now reads "Macedonians".
The change comes after the reaction of the Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the communication of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Timcho Mutsunski with his Albanian counterpart Igli Hassani.
"Colleague Hassani informed me that it was a technical error. I am grateful for the quick intervention," said Mutsunski.
The Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a sharp reaction to the term used, as well as an assessment that the results of the census in Albania do not adequately reflect the real number of ethnic Macedonians in the country.
